Pilot Training :

Its every boy’s childhood dream to become a Pilot.Being an airline pilot is a exciting,glamorous, and high playing job. But how exactly do you become one? The process of Pilot training takes lot of effort and dedication. Needless to say, you need to be serious and committed. Work hard and follow the steps below and one day you might become an airline pilot!


1. Eligibility for becoming a Pilot :

10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and Physics. (If you don’t have Physics & Maths in 10+2 you have an option of doing these two subjects from National Institute of Open Schooling’s On-Demand Examinations and can still start your Pilot training course. At least 16 years of age to start pilot training. Vision must be perfect  (6/6 eyesight) with or without glasses.  You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.

2. Locate a good flight school :

Search for a flight school  with good reputation and infrastructure.The flying club shall have good numbers of flight Instructors & Aircraft. The weather at US specially Miami is good throughout the year.

3.Get a First Class medical certificate.

You’ll need to obtain this from a Class 1 Medical Centre (New Delhi,Jorhat,Bangalore). Call on helpline no +91-9891576645 for more details). It is better to qualify for Class one Medical before you have invested too much time and money into your new career choice. Following Tests are done under Class 1 medical examination
  • ECG
  • EEG
  • Hearing and vision tests
  • Lung function and heart tests
  • Blood and urine analysis
  • General physical examination
  • Ultrasound
  • TMT( If overweight)

4. Pilot training Cost :

5. Pilot Salaries :

The pilot salaries in India is pretty good. Just after basic CPL, there are chances of getting a job. During training phase Airlines gives stipend of Rs 40,000 upto 1 Lakhs. After training pilot salaries vary between Rs 2.2 Lakhs upto 3.75 Lakhs per month. Once you become Captain, the salaries ranges between Rs 6.5 Lakhs- Rs 7.5 Lakhs per month.


At least 200 hours flight experience including:


  • 100 hours pilot in command (solo)
  • 20 hours cross-country pilot in command
  • 65 hours flight training
  • 35 hours dual (with instructor)
  • 5 hours night
  • 2 hours night cross-country
  • 30 hours solo including:
  • A cross-country flight 300 nautical miles from point of departure with at least 3 full-stop landings other than the point of departure
  • 5 hours night
  • 10 night circuits
  • Student must successfully complete a Commercial Pilot Flight Test
